Friends of Deceased Journalist and NTA Anchor, Ohakwe Akwiwu establishes literary prize in his honour

Ohakwe, a  journalist and host of the popular Morning Ride show on NTA who passed away late last year is being immortalised with the establishment of the Ohakwe Akwiwu Prize for fiction.

This was announced on his post humous birthday on the 28th July 2018

This will be the first outing of the prize and it will be for short stories only (2500 words).

 The annual event and entries will be restricted to Nigerian writers resident in Nigeria with a theme for each year. The proposed theme for this year shall focus on GRIEF AND LOSS.

The winners will be determined by a judging panel of literary experts.

Three Nigerians have been selected by the global wear luxury brand, BYC as their new African Ambassadors.

Announcing it on their page @bycnigeria The brand named Chukkie Ihebuzor, Mr Ideal Nigeria 2018, award winning super model, Dera Kosi and Mr University Africa 2016, Damilola Babalola

 While Launching their new campaign #LiveForNow, the top unisex brand revealed that the three top models were selected based on their dexterity, talent and their image which is in line with the brand's image globally

Miss Ideal Nigeria 2018 announces pre selection judges

The House of Twitch and Darlo Organics have announced the 12th of August for the 5th anniversary of the Miss Ideal Nigeria. This year 30 girls have been shortlisted to compete for the ultimate price of who gets to represent Nigeria at the Miss Global Beautypageant to be held in South Korea late in the year

So how exactly is the winner selected? What you may not know is that prior to the show , a separate panel of judges called the Selection committee would have viewed all the girls in a preliminary competition which accounts for 60 % of the total score. The prelim is split into 2; the Preliminary Interview (50%) and the Preliminary Dress Rehearsals. 

Based on the preliminary , a top 12 will be coined who will be announced on the final night.

Miss Ideal Nigeria unveils the 2018 finalists

The organizers of the Miss Ideal Nigeria has finally unveiled the top 32 finalists for this year's event

The event which is scheduled to hold on the 12th August at The Bespoke Event Centre, Lekki, Lagos will see the reigning queen Miss Precious Adigwe handover her crown to one of these beautiful damsels.


The winner of this year's pageant will represent Nigeria at the Miss BRICs competition scheduled to hold in India .
She will also be a global ambassador of BYC and Darlo Organics line amongst other prizes
